Here are some free Garmin maps which work if your unit has an external SD card (Garmin 60CSX for example). The roads and walkways are routable, but do not have house numbers to use as a target address. The POIs are also not typically found in the POI search. This Garmin map will be periodically updated

To put this map onto your GPS follow these instructions:

  1. Download the map at OpenStreetMap Garmin maps (448 Megabytes, Dated May 3, 2017)
  2. Unzip and rename the file to gmapsupp.img
  3. Plug the GPS unit in “mass storage mode” (Setup->Interface->USB Mass Storage)
  4. Put the file gmapsupp.img in the Garmin directory (create the directory if it does not exist)
  5. Unplug the GPS unit

There will be periodic updates made as new data becomes available in OpenStreetMap.
